Snacks Anyone?

Several people have asked me recently if they can bring a snack for the children and my answer is - yes!  =)  Our snack cabinet is starting to get a little low and we'd love to have snacks to replenish it.  Anything that is non-perishable and can feed between 30 and 40 children would be greatly appreciated any time!

Important Info for Fabulous Fifth Graders!

As we enter this new year of 2012 and we celebrate all the strengths of our growing program, we also recognize some of the things that challenge us and look to some RE New Year’s Resolutions of sorts.  J  Because we can’t predict or know how many children show up each week in our program, we are limited in providing a multi-age curriculum to best serve everyone’s needs.  This works most of the time and we are blessed with patient littler friends and understanding bigger friends that all work really hard to help each other out each week.  Still, sometimes the extreme ends of our age spectrum need more attention.  This is why we’re going to pilot a new program this year especially for our fantastic fifth graders that are really ready to move on to bigger and better.

One Sunday each month for the remainder of the year, the fifth graders at the 11am service will be going over to the Annex to participate in activities with the UUTeens.  This is the RE program they will be attending in the fall each week and this is an excellent opportunity for them to get a small taste of what they can expect next year.

If your fifth grader wants to participate in this program, you need to attend the 11 am service (UUTeens only meets at 11am) on the selected Sunday each month.  Our first date will be on January 29^th.  You will be told each month when the special Annex Sunday is so be watching Mail/Email/Facebook/Blog/Wednesday Email from the Office for more information.  Everyone attends the beginning of the service in the sanctuary as usual and then fifth graders will follow the UUTeens over to the Annex.  After their session is over, they will walk back over to church with the other kids and meet their grown-ups.
