OWL coming soon for Kindergarteners and First Graders

We are getting ready to begin our OWL Classes for this wonderful bunch of children and you are invited to sign up now...  For those of you who may not know, OWL is an acronym for the Our Whole Lives curriculum for sexuality education.  Participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior throughout the course of the program.  For more detailed information, visit the UUA website here ~

Our plan is to have a Guardian Information Meeting on Sunday, March 18th after the second service (around 12:30) in George Bray Hall.  All guardians interested in having their children participate MUST ATTEND this meeting.

After that, OWL will take place during the 11:00am service for the following 9 weeks (minus Easter Sunday) ~ March 25th through May 20th.

Please let Laura or Leann know as soon as possible if you're planning on your child attending.  We want to make sure we have the correct number of teachers available.

As always, if you have any questions ~ don't hesitate to ask...

News and Notes for the Children's Program~

Just a reminder that the fifth graders will be going to the Annex this week (February 26) during the 11am service.  We all start in the sanctuary like usual and when the children are dismissed from the service, they will go to the Annex with the other UUTeens. Please make sure that you arrange with your fifth grader whether you will meet them at the Annex or back at church.

Also - our Spring Family Fun night is coming up soon!  Mark your calendars for Friday, March 30th in George Bray Hall at church (6:30 - 8:30).  We'll do a potluck and have fun and games for all ages - we sure hope you'll be there!

Spring Fling!

As we inch ever closer to spring, it's time to start thinking about our annual spring family get-together event.  Our wonderful activities coordinator, Shelly, is in the process of planning this activity, so if anyone has any great ideas of something social they'd like us to do ~ let us know right away.  Last year we went to the Racine Zoo and everyone had such a great time learning about all the animals and visiting together.  Even despite the snow and cold, we all enjoyed the experience!  What shall we do this year???
