Our Last Unit of the Year ~

As we wind down the 2011~2012 school year, we will be wrapping up our year of Diversity.  What better way to end in the spring by communing with nature and exploring its rich diversity?  We'll be trying to head outdoors for most of our lessons on the remaining Sundays through the end of May if weather cooperates.  Please make sure your kiddos arrive with proper outdoor attire (coats, good walking shoes, maybe even an umbrella or two) so they can become nature investigators!  =)

RE Committee Positions now OPEN!

We are currently looking for two new members of our Religious Education Committee for the 2012~2013 school year.  For those of you who may not know, the RE Committee meets every other month to help with the planning and carry out of the religious education program at OBUUC.  The positions we need filled for next year are:

Secretary ~  Attends RE Committee meetings one evening every other month to take notes and distribute minutes.

Party Coordinator ~  Plans and runs two family get-togethers every year (one in the fall - Halloween and one in the spring).  This person would plan the activity, work with the DREs on a date, gather any supplies needed or volunteers they might need as well, and then host the event.

If you are a newer member of our congregation looking to get your feet wet in volunteering - this is a great opportunity!  Neither position takes up a lot of time and it's a great way to get involved in the nuts and bolts of how our program runs...  If you're a veteran who hasn't had the opportunity to volunteer in the past - this is great for you too!
